Friday 17th December 2021
Polypipe Building Products are thrilled to have ended 2021 with several awards to add to our trophy cabinet.
Last night, Polypipe Building Products won the Business Engaging with Education Award for the first time at the Doncaster Business Awards, hosted by the Doncaster Chamber.
A team of colleagues from across multiple business areas came together to work on the two submissions and ultimately came away with the two top prizes on the night. Dean Asher, Head of Technical and Customer Services, who headed up the group, said of the win:
This really is a fantastic achievement for the business and for myself personally as I have a great deal of passion for education in our region. A great team effort and the hard work starts now as we look to push on and visit more education partnerships in our region in 2022
The awards are the latest in a recent haul of awards for the company. Earlier this month, Mason Pinder’s Jordan Clayton as named the Nikken Kosakusho Europe Ltd HNC and Higher Apprentice of the Year at the AMRC Apprentice Awards 2021. Jordan was praised for this aspirations and future-thinking as well as his professionalism and passion for his work.
Previously Jordan has won the Worshipful Company of Horners and BPF 2019 Polymer Apprentice of the Year Award and was involved in an improvement project that led to a company saving of approximately £260,000.
Liam Shaw, another Polypipe apprentice, was awarded the M4Snews.com Special Recognition Award at the AMRC Training Centre at the same ceremony. Liam was described as a credit to both the AMRC Training Centre and himself, having been nominated by his peers and setting the standard for the rest of the group.
Adrian Bristow, Technical Director, thanked the mentors of Jordan and Liam for their hard work:
“We are immensely proud of the achievements of Jordan, Liam and of all our apprentices. Credit must also go to their Mentors, who play such a vital role in their development journey, providing encouragement and support. Many of these individuals are themselves a product of our apprentice system and demonstrate, first-hand, the opportunities that exist within our business. Very well done to the whole team”
These awards come after winning Plumbing & Heating Supplier of the Year at the 2021 Builders Merchants Journal Industry Awards in London last month.
This award is extra special as it is voted for by merchant teams and their customer and industry peers and this is our second consecutive win, having scooped the prize at the 2020 awards.
As 2021 draws to a close, we are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our colleagues this year. These wins prove that Polypipe Building Products provides excellent service and products to our customers, but are providing the future of our industry with the best level of training and knowledge, as well as doing our part to support our local community.
Congratulations to Jordan and Liam, and all our colleagues who have made these awards possible!
