Polypipe Building Products will be taking part in the PHG charity cycle on 1st and 2nd October 2021.
Cycling on our behalf is Regional Sales Manager Gary Foord and Business Development Manager Steve Heney.
The route will see them cover 150 miles from Harrogate to Darlington through the Yorkshire Dales and back again through the North Yorkshire Moors.
This is all to support two fantastic charities, Surfers Against Sewage and the Woodlands Trust, to help the war on plastic pollution and the carbon crisis. Like many charities, they have suffered massive losses during the Pandemic and it's now time for us to do our bit to help them recover.

Meet the Team
Steve Heney - Business Development Manager, Polypipe Building Products
Born in Liverpool (I am a massive Liverpool FC supporter!), I now live in Reading with my wife Lisa, our 2 children and our cocker spaniel.
Previously I was a very keen road runner but following issues with my hip I started road cycling around six years ago. I really enjoy cycling as it keeps me fit in both mind and body and generally allows me to eat and drink anything that I want.
I have never cycled 150 miles over two consecutive days before and the PHG event presents a big challenge to me. Training is going well and after cycling 285 miles in May I recently completed a 75 mile ride in and around Berkshire and West Oxfordshire.
I'm looking forward to taking on this challenge and battling the North Yorkshire hills. Just hope that the weather and general conditions are on our side. It's also a great opportunity to raise funds for two very good causes. Well done PHG!
Gary Foord - Regional Sales Manager, Polypipe Building Products
I have always enjoyed cycling and managed to loss 4 stone three years ago thanks to Slimming world. I soon discovered the art of running (or shuffling in my case!) and now spend early mornings and weekends combining cycling and running, completing several half marathon events and long endurance cycling sportive such as Ride London.
My wife Maggie is running buddy and we are very proud members of Canterbury Bicycle Club and the Stour Striders Running Club.
I am currently training to complete 26.2 miles marathon distance and have various cycling events planned just recently completing 100 miles with 6,500 ft of climbing.
Living on top of the North Downs in Kent always makes for a lumpy run or cycle and I look forward to the Yorkshire experience with PHG. I have been fortunate to ride in many countries; throughout France, Atlas Mountains in Morocco and even mountain biking in Black Rock Desert, Las Vegas! I am looking forward to the PHG Revolution 150, the comradery amongst their many great members and more importantly supporting these fantastic causes.
